August 10

 Missionary: Faith in Deeds

Combined Class time for children and parents.
This week's Psalm is Psalm 145.

Here are a couple of resources to help you review this Psalm with your family.

  • Coloring Sheet from class:  HERE
  • Song: How Great www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNSoydKOXQo
  • Devotional: Living for Something Bigger Than You - www.paultripp.com/psalms/posts/psalm-145-living-for-something-bigger-than-you
    • Conversation Prompts to Use with younger children:
      • What makes God so amazing? Why do you think it’s important to live for God and not for ourselves? Have you ever met someone who is really self-centered? What was their personality like?
      • How have you seen me be self-centered in the past? How have you been self-centered before? Does being self-centered make others happy? Why do you think God wants us to be focused on him instead of ourselves?
    • Conversation Prompts to use with older children:
      • Have you ever looked at the personality of someone who you know is fairly self-centered and wondered if they are truly joyful? Why do you think self-centered people are miserable people to be around? Why do you think that kind of person is miserable themselves?
      • How have you seen me be self-centered in the past? How have you been self-centered before? Does being self-centered make others around you happy? Why do you think God wants us to be focused on him instead of ourselves? Why is God better to be focused on in life instead of ourselves? How can we help each other become more and more in awe of God?

August 3

 Missionary: Good Churches.

Combined Class time for children and parents.
HERE is the note sheet.

This week's Psalm is Psalm 67.

Here is an 8-minute video you can either watch on your own and share what you learned with your children
OR
watch with your older children. -  www.desiringgod.org/labs/god-blesses-you-to-bless-the-world

A big takeaway is that God blesses his people for his glory.

While the words people, nation, earth, and other similar words fill the Psalm, the focus is on God and His glory.
