 Toddlers:

Mary’s Gift

Lesson: Mark 14:3-9; John 12:1-8

  • What was Mary’s gift to Jesus? (She poured perfume on Jesus’ head.)

Verse: “Love one another” (1 John 4:7)

  • Have your child draw a picture representing the verse and talk about it together.



Pre-K/Kindergarten:

God Cared for His Prophets

Lesson: 2 Kings 4:38-44

  • In what ways did God provide for His prophets?

  • Why do you think Nicodemus went to Jesus at night?

Application: Help your child recognize that everyone is a sinner and needs salvation from sin.



2nd-3rd Grade Sunday School:

Jesus Offers Eternal Light

Lesson: John 4:3-42

  • How do you think the woman must have felt to have the Messiah taking time to talk to her, a lowly Samaritan with bad relationship problems?

Verse: John 3:16

Theme: Jesus provides the only way to eternal life. 

Application: This week’s lesson covered Jesus’ conversation with the woman at the well. He helped her see her need for faith in Him for salvation. Help your child pray for and take advantage of opportunities to witness to the lost. 



4th-5th Grade Sunday School:

Draw Your Sword

Lesson: Eph. 6:17; Heb. 4:12, 13

  • How do you like being completely known by God? 

Verse: Eph. 6:17

Theme: God gave us the Bible so we might know and live by the truth. 

Application: Spending time learning God’s Word and using the Bible as the “sword of the Spirit”. Help your child understand they need God’s help in spiritual battles.


1st-3rd Grade Children's Church:

Lesson: 1 Samuel 17:1-18:11; 24; 26

Theme: God gives us courage and strength to do His will. God wants us to show respect to others.

Lesson: 1 Samuel 1:19-28

  • How did God answer Hannah’s prayers? (He gave her a baby boy, Samuel)

  • Create motions for the verse and practice together.

Lesson: 2 Kings 4:8-37

  • How did God work through Elisha to help a family? 

Verse: “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Lesson: 1 Kings 18:17-40

  • What did Elijah do to the altar?

  • What happened after Elijah did this?

Application: Help your child give Biblical or personal examples of why he or she should worship only God.

Jesus Is Perfectly Holy

Lesson: Matt. 4:1-11; 17:1-8

  • What is transfiguration? Why did Jesus shine so brightly?

Verse: John 1:14

Theme: Jesus qualifies to be our Savior because His is perfectly Holy.

Application: This lesson covered Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness and His transfiguration. Help your child understand Jesus’ holiness qualifies Him to be the Savior of the world. 



4th-5th Grade Sunday School:

Put Your Armor On

Lesson: Eph. 6:10-17

  • What truths from God’s Word have you learned recently?

Verse: Eph. 6:10, 11

Theme: God provides “armor” to protect us from Satan’s wily ways. 

Application: We need to put on the armor of God daily (be in the Bible) in order to stand against Satan’s attacks. Help your child understand that Satan tries to distract and discourage them with lies. 



1st-3rd Grade Children's Church:

Saul’s Disobedience and Rejection

Lesson: 1 Samuel 15-16:3

Theme: God is pleased when our obedience is not partial. 

  • What does it mean to obey completely?

Verse: 1 Samuel 12:24a

  • Create a verse hunt with the verse. Write 1-2 words on a card and hide them around the house. Once all cards have been found, put the verse in the correct order.

God’s Unlikely Providers

Lesson: 1 Kings 16:28-17:16

  • Who did God provide for in your lesson today? How?

Verse: Lamentations 3:22b, 23

  • Clap the verse together as you say each word/syllable. 

Application: Help your child pray about his or her needs and worries.


2nd/3rd Grade Sunday School:

Jesus Is The Eternal Life

Lesson: Matt. 3:13-17; John 1:1-9

  • Talk about baptism and why one would want to be baptized. 

Verse: John 1:1, 2

Theme: Jesus is the eternal Son of God. .

Application: This lesson covered John’s instruction of Jesus as the eternal Word. Jesus is the Word in that He reveals God the Father’s character and ways. Help your child understand that Jesus is the Word, the Son of God. 


4th/5th Grade Sunday School:

Glorify the Commander

Lesson: Matt. 5:14-16; 1 Cor. 10:31

  • How might you affect a person’s view of God if you faced difficult circumstances with joy?

Verse: 1 Cor. 10:31

Theme: God wants our thoughts, words, and deeds to glorify Him.  

Application: God saves people so they might live for Him and shine the light of His glory to the lost world. Help your child understand the importance of praising God often. 


1st-3rd Grade Children's Church:

Saul’s Unlawful Sacrifice

Lesson: 1 Samuel 12:1-14:23

Theme: God is pleased when we obey Him from our hearts.

  • How does God want you to obey? 

  • Who or what does God want you to obey?

Verse: 1 Samuel 12:24a

  • Write the verse on a notecard and hang somewhere visible to practice together daily.
