Lesson: Ruth 2; 4:13-17

  • How did Ruth show love and kindness to Naomi? (She left her family and country to go with Naomi, she worked in the fields to gather grain so Naomi would have food to eat)

1st Grade SS:

Jesus Called His Fishers of Men

Lesson: Mark 1:16-20; 2:13-17; 3:13-19; Luke 9:1; 2, 6, 10

  • How many disciples did Jesus have? 

  • Activity: teach/sing the song ‘Fishers of Men’

2nd-3rd Grade SS:

Samuel Listened to God

Lesson: 1 Samuel 2:12-3:21

  • How did Eli’s sons disobey? 

  • What was God’s message to Eli’s family?

Verse: Psalm 89:14

Theme: God deals with sin justly

Application: God’s message of judgement, on Eli’s wicked sons, communicated God’s ability to see sin and His need to punish sin. Help your child understand the seriousness of sin.

4th-5th Grade SS:

God Cares for Us

Lesson: Psalm 23

  • When have you been glad you chose to follow the Lord instead of disobeying Him?

Verse: Psalm 23:1, 2

Theme: God cares for us with the love and sacrifice of a good shepherd. 

Application: The lesson presented the Lord’s roles of meeting needs, leading, securing, and comforting His own as the good shepherd. Help your child understand their need for a “shepherd” to guide them through life.
