  • Who went to Bethlehem with Mary? (Joseph)

  • Why was Jesus laid in a manger-bed? (There was no space left for them at the inn - the innkeeper offered for them to stay in the barn.)

Verse: “[God] loved us and sent his Son” (1 John 4:10)

  • Create motions for the verse and practice together.


Pre-K/Kindergarten:

Lesson: Luke 1:26-38

  • What is impossible for God? (Nothing)

  • Sing ‘Oh How I Love Jesus’ together

Verse: “You shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1:21)

1st Grade SS:

  • How did God provide for Ruth and Naomi?

Application: Help your child acknowledge God’s provision, even in the small things.


2nd/3rd Grade SS:

God Defeated Baal

Lesson: 1 Kings 16:29-18:46

  • How did God provide for Israel?

Verse: 1 Kings 18:21

Theme: God hears us because He is real. 

Application: This week covered God’s judgment on Israel for embracing Baal worship. God sent a drought on Israel but took care of a Phoenician widow and Elijah because of their trust in Him. Help your child embrace God’s promises to him or her. 


4th/5th Grade SS:

The Word Became Flesh

Lesson: John 1:1-18

  • How can Jesus be both God and man?

Verse: John 1:14

Theme: The Word is Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God. 

Application: Jesus is the unique communication of God to humanity. Jesus is both the eternal Son of God and the Son of Man. Help your child with their understanding of how Jesus is the Word, the eternal Son of God.
