Who is Jesus? (The Son of God. He lives in Heaven with His Father, God.)

Jesus Showed His Glory
Lesson: Matt. 16:21; 17:1-13; Mark 9:1-13
What if Jesus stayed on that mountain instead of going to the cross and dying for our sin? (He would never pay the price for sin, and we wouldn’t have a Savior!)
Verse: “We have seen [Jesus’] glory” (John 1:14)

Jerusalem’s Restoration

Everyone sins. What should you do when you sin?
Verse: 1 John 2:1
Theme: God offers us hope and forgiveness when we sin.
Application: This week’s lesson covered the three returns of God’s People to the Promised Land. God granted His People forgiveness and supplied for the rebuilding of the temple and Jerusalem’s walls. Help your child praise God for lovingly forgiving him or her.
4th/5th Grade SS:
The Word Rises Again
Lesson: John 20; 21
How do we know Jesus rose again?
Verse: John 20: 20, 21
Theme: The Word defeated death once and for all.
Application: The lesson covered the resurrection of Christ. Jesus’ resurrection brought a new mission for His disciples and for us. Jesus wants us to follow Him and even be willing to suffer for His work on earth. Help your child understand that his or her faith is worthless without Jesus’ resurrection.
1st-3rd Grade CC:
Israel Requests a King
Lesson: 1 Samuel 8-10
Theme: God is the perfect King of all.
