Jesus Stopped a Storm

Lesson: Math. 8:23-27; Mark 4:35-41

• Why were Jesus’ friends afraid? (There was a huge storm)

• What did Jesus say? What happened to the storm? (Be Still! The strom stopped)

Verse: “I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10)

• Have your child draw a picture representing the verse and talk about it together. 

Pre-K/Kindergarten:

Jesus Caused the Blind to See

Lesson: Mark 10:46-52

• What did Jesus do for Bartimaeus in today’s lesson? (Gave him his sight)

Verse: “Jesus… went about doing good” (Acts 10:38)

• Have your child draw a picture representing the verse and talk about it together. 

1st Grade SS:

King David’s Kindness

Lesson: 2 Samuel 7; 9

• How did King David show kindness to others?

Verse: Psalm 143:8

• Have your child draw a picture representing the verse and talk about it together. 

Application: Help your child purposefully seek ways to show lovingkindness to others.

2nd/3rd Grade SS:

Esther’s Bravery in Exile

Lesson: Esther

• Why should God’s holy name, or His holy character, encourage you to trust Him your whole life?

Verse: Psalm 33:10, 11

Theme: God’s plans are unstoppable because He is all-powerful.  

Application: This week’s lesson covered the rise of Esther to queen and her courage to stand for God in a foreign land. God responded by delivering His people from certain death. Help your child pray when faced with challenging circumstances.

4th/5th Grade SS:

The Word Redeems

Lesson: John 18; 19

• Why was Jesus’ death different than any other death?

Verse: John 19:30

Theme: The Word provides redemption from sin. 

Application: This lesson covered the arrest and crucifixion of Christ. With His words and actions, Jesus made it unmistakably clear that He went to the cross voluntarily. He chose to die so we might have eternal life. Help your child understand that Jesus bore his or her sin on the cross. 

1st-3rd Grade CC:

Samuel Leads Israel Back to God

Lesson: 1 Samuel 4-7

Theme: God will bless our devotion and respect for Him. 

• How can you show respect and devotion to God this week?

Verse: 1 Samuel 2:2

• Create a verse hunt with the verse. Write 1-2 words on a card and hide them around the house. Once all cards have been found, put the verse in the correct order.
