Why were the shepherds happy in your story today? (They were glad to see Baby Jesus.)
Verse: “Unto you is born this day … a Savior” (Luke 2:11)
Write the verse out on a paper, say it together. Slowly cover up words of the verse, continue saying the verse until the verse is known by the child(ren).

Teach the following rhyme, “Little Baby Jesus” to your child(ren).
Verse: “For unto you is born this day… a Savior, who is Christ the Lord’ (Luke 2:11)

Little baby Jesus, born on Christmas Day;
Little baby Jesus, sleeping on the hay.
An angel told the shepherds, “Do not be afraid;
Little baby Jesus is on His bed of hay.”
Many angels joined him, standing in the light;
“Glory to God in the highest.” they said that quiet night.
“Hurry!” said the shepherds, “let us leave our sheep,
And go see baby Jesus.” Sh-h-h! He’s fast asleep.

Create a verse hunt with the verse. Write 1-2 words on a card and hide them around the house. Once all cards have been found, put the verse in the correct order.
