Toddlers:

Wise Men Followed a Star

Lesson: Matt. 2:1-11

  • What did the wise men follow? (A star.)

  • Where did the star lead them? (To the house Jesus lived in.)

Verse: “The child grew and became strong.” (Luke 2:40)

  • Create motions for the verse and practice together. 


Pre-K/Kindergarten:

Worshiping the King

Lesson: Matt. 2:1-12

  • What did the wise men do when they say Jesus? (They bowed down and worshiped Him)

  • What did the wise men give Jesus? (gold, frankincense, myrrh)

  • Sing “Jesus Loves Me’ together. 

Verse: “God sent his only Son into the world” (1 John 4:9)

  • Create motions for the verse and practice together. 


1st Grade SS:

God Gave to Generous Hannah

Lesson: 1 Samuel 1:1-2:11

  • How did God bless Hannah?

Verse: 1 Samuel 12:24

  • Create motions for the verse and practice together. 

Application: Help your child know that God is pleased when (s)he serves and obeys. 


2nd/3rd Grade SS:

Elisha Revealed God’s Heart

Lesson: 2 Kings 2:1-14; 4:1-37; 5

  • How did God provide for Elisha in today’s lesson?

Verse: Lamentations 3:24

Theme: God provides for our needs from His loving, giving heart. 

Application: This week covered Elisha’s heart for God and God’s heart for His people. Help your child seed to glorify God no matter the circumstances he or she faces. 


4th/5th Grade SS:

The Word Quenches Thirst

Lesson: John 3:22-4:54

  • Why did Jesus compare the Spirit to “living water”?

Verse: John 4:14

Theme: The Word speaks with life-giving power and authority. 

Application: Jesus had a conversation with a Samaritan woman and He offered her “living water”, a reference to the Holy Spirit and salvation. Every believer receives the Spirit at salvation. Help your child depend on the Spirit for strength to obey and serve God. 


1st-3rd Grade CC:

Gideon’s Wholehearted Soldiers

Lesson: Judges 7

Theme: God wants us to show our faith in Him

  • How can you demonstrate your faith in God?

Verse: Judges 2:18a

  • Recite the verse with little to no help.
