Bible Texts: John 1, 18, 19, 20. Memory Verse: Ephesians 1:7.
Today was the high point of VBS. We learned why we can always hope—no matter what—and know that things will turn out okay in the end! How can we have that confidence? Because the price to fix our broken world has been paid in full!
Question: What is the price to fix my brokenness?
Takeaway: Jesus paid the price for your redemption. Come to Him!
Family Fun
Gather clear jars or bottles with lids, plus small heavy items (like screws) and lightweight particles (like sand or glitter). Fill each container ¾ with water. Shake each jar with different items and observe how heavy objects sink, but lighter ones float or swirl.
Conversation Idea: We couldn’t make the screws act like particles in a real snow globe. And we can’t do anything about our sin. But Jesus can! On a cross, He paid the price for all our sins to be forgiven.
Discovering Hope
- Jesus fulfilled every single one of God’s promises of a redeemer—but tragically, He wasn’t the kind of redeemer people had been looking for.
- People rejected Jesus and put Him on trial.
- Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice, paying the ransom to set us free from sin.
- But then He rose again, winning the victory over sin and its brokenness!
